Raising the tide of refreshment
Salcombe Brewery approached me in 2015 at a critical turning point in their history. Formerly trading as Quercus Brewery, the business was struggling with an inconsistent product, a damaged reputation and the very real threat of liquidation.
Following acquisition by businessman John Tiner and his family, my role was to help completely reimagine the brewery, shedding its past and rebuilding trust through a new name, identity and positioning rooted in place and quality.
Drawing inspiration from the coastal charm of Salcombe, I created the Salcombe Seahorse mark as a symbol of purity and excellence, alongside a clear brand proposition ‘Raising the Tides of Refreshment’ that put quality at the heart of everything they do.
A decade on, Salcombe Brewery has grown into an award winning, nationally recognised brand, with a purpose-built sustainable brewery and listings in major retailers including Tesco and Waitrose.
